100 Percent Hold Baggage Screening Soon to be Implemented at Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt, Germany 2. 10. 2002 (PROTEXT/ots) - From nextJanuary, the European Union requires all European airports -including Frankfurt Airport - to screen all hold baggage beforeloading, as part of tighter security. This requires installationof additional baggage X-ray machines and may result in longerwaiting times.

As of January 1, 2003, passengers are, therefore, advised toarrive at the airport a little earlier and allow some extra timefor check-in until the new procedures are routine. Theadditional X-ray machines will be installed in front of thecheck-in counters in both terminals at Frankfurt Airport.
