1st Baltic Biotech Forum - Life Science as a key for regional economic development at the Baltic Sea Region

Greifswald, Germany (PROTEXT) - Life science is the keytechnology of the 21st century, first innovative products andproduction processes revolutionise medicine, agriculture andreleaf the environment. More than 120 representatives fromscience and industry from all the states of the Baltic sea regionmeet from 8.-9.Nov 2001 in Teschow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, tothe first common forum. "This Baltic Biotech Forum will be morethan a first step for collaboration of the states at the Balticsea", so Andrius Kubilius, former prime minister of Lithuania."As one of the coming new memberstates of the EU we see thisforum as an important step to enhance collaboration and thechance for a sustainable economic development in our country." The organisers, BioTechnikum Greifswald and Medicon ValleyAcademy, Kopenhagen/Lund, initiated the forum to discuss "How todo science and business on an international scale ".
