A remarkable discovery at Lake Thun: New images of the MOZART child prodigies?

Langenthal 23. 11. 2005 (PROTEXT/ots) - In a hotel by theside of Lake Thun the MAGGINI- FOUNDATION, of Langenthal inSwitzerland, has discovered two previously unknown MOZARTpictures - a rare double miniature painted on ivory. WOLFGANG isportrayed on one side, seated, and his sister NANNERL (MARIANNA)on the other. The two children were both painted in water-colour(Guoache) by the same unknown but highly accomplished artist c.1768.

The paintings have been examined by experts in the fields ofart, music, history and science to confirm their authenticity.

This discovery brings new images of the child prodigies intothe public view in time for the 250th anniversary celebrationsof MOZART's birth on the 27th January 2006.

The AMATI Quartetto will play the Lodi string-quartetto KV80wich was composed by MOZART when he was 15 years old.
