Brigitte Bardot pays first visit to Austria to receive the my way* prize 2002

Vienna 07.05.2002 (PROTEXT) - Following in the footsteps ofDr Christiaan Barnard (2000) and Karlheinz Böhm (2001), BrigitteBardot will be awarded the my way prize on 25 May 2002 for herdevoted services to animal rights protection worldwide.

This year, Brigitte Bardot will receive the prize forher unselfish and relentless fight for animal rights over manyyears.

my way gala On 25 May 2002 (19.30), ORF's star presenter,Vera Rußwurm, will host the gala for the my way prize awards2002. The gala evening will be held in the Festival Hall inHagenbrunn (www.hagenbrunn.at) near Vienna. Timna Brauer and theVienna Olczykowski Ballet will stage a choreographic performanceon the life and career of the famous animal rightsprotectionist. A whole host of guests and celebrities willattend the awards.

my way *Based on an idea (1995) by Erich Bruckberger, theHagenbrunn community devised the my way project (www.myway.at).Seven internationally renowned sculptors created the 800-metre-long representation of the seven stages of life, from birth tolight. The "world's greatest monument to life" (Prof. Dr Macho)was opened to the public on 15 May 1999 and can be visited freeof charge. The project cost EUR 1,100,000, which was raisedpredominantly through private sponsors.
