Canton of Genevas Economic Promotion Trip to Shanghai China brings success for Geneva Company WISeKey

SHANGHAI (China) 9th September (PROTEXT) - The Canton ofGenevas Economic Promotion trip led by Minister Carlo Lamprechtand organized by the Swiss Centre Shanghai and the Geneva Chamberof Commerce has helped Geneva headquartered company WISeKeyestablish business relations and contracts with China. WISeKeySA provides solutions for all situations where security relies onidentity both in the physical and virtual worlds. WISeKey,represented in the Economic Promotion trip to China by WISeKeystwo founders, President Carlos Moreira and CEO MalcolmHutchinson, held a number of important meetings with Governmentofficials and corporate executives in both Shanghai and Beijing.
WISeKeys founders had already delivered in the 90's importantprojects in China with the deployment of the Trade PointDevelopment Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and EconomicCooperation MOFTEC as well as the establishment of Trade Pointsin several major cities in the country, effectively openingChina to e-commerce for the first time. Now, using the visionthey started through WISeKey, the same team has gone to China topromote the use of e-security and e-government solutions. As partof this evolution, the WISeKey delegation has met with LiuMinsheng, Chief Information Officer of SinoTrans and reached anagreement to develop a pilot project to secure SinoTrans, Chinaslargest logistics company, using the Microsoft-WISeKey trustedplatform based of Microsoft server 2003(www.microsoft.com/presspass/features/2004/aug04/08-16wisekey.asp). With this trip WISEKey is also setting in placethe framework for creating a joint venture company as WISeKeyChina. Additionally, as part of WISekeys vision to create globaltrustworthy trading communities, WISeKey in conjunction withPhilippe Doubre, Director General of World Trade Center Geneva,also present in China, have established contacts to createawareness among Chinese companies to use WTC Geneva as a platformto reach European markets. Carlos Moreira stated, this trip toChina organized by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce was verysuccessful for WISeKey and its timing has been perfect for ussince China is currently organizing the logistics for itshosting of the Olympics in 2008. Whilst we already had a numberof meetings arranged, we were able to make these meetingscoincide with meeting new contacts introduced by the Swiss CentreShanghai, creating a number of new business opportunities.
