Based on theg@te-technology from the UK software solutions company m@gic4,conVISUAL has developed applications which support animated SMSmessages with enhanced sound and graphics for the first time. One of the highlights presented by conVISUAL at the GSM WorldCongress will be their Animated Sports Quiz. Subcribers areguided through the quiz with the help of entertaining animations.Each question is displayed as a form, so that the user can simplyscroll through the answers and click the appropriate one. Aftersending out the answer by pressing a button the result will bedisplayed on the mobile phone. Similar to the animations onscoreboards in soccer stadiums, a short animated clip plays aball heading towards a soccer goal hitting or missing it -depending on the answer. Users who have answered all questionscorrectly will be honoured as a winner's trophy appears on theirdisplay and they get the opportunity to participate in a lotterydraw. Another brand new application that conVISUAL will bedemonstrating is the Mobile Picture Postcard which allowsanimated greeting cards to be sent to mobile phones. Devices thatsupport the m@gic4 format are capable of receiving animatedholiday or greeting cards giving an instant experience whencompared to classical postcards. The Mobile Picture Postcard canbe sent from any mobile phone that supports SMS. To display theanimation on the receiver's handset requires the new m@gic4standard to be available. Greetings received on a common mobilephone will be displayed as a text, as usual.
