Dräger plans IT outsourcing partnership with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Lübeck to become central location for IT center network in Northern Germany

BERLIN/LÜBECK 27th November 2003 (PROTEXT) - Lübeck-basedDrägerwerk AG intends to establish an outsourcing partnershipwith the management and IT consulting company Cap Gemini Ernst &Young Deutschland GmbH. Within the scope of this partnership, CapGemini Ernst & Young will acquire the IT subsidiaries NordacRechenzentrumsgesellschaft mbH (data center operation) andDräger Synematic GmbH (IT consulting) in Lübeck, and DrägerInformation Technologies GmbH (operation of hospital informationsystems) in Berlin.

On November 27, 2003, the business partners signed amemorandum of understanding. The details of the agreement willbe finalized in the coming weeks. The order volume adds up to athree-digit million Euro-amount. The partners aim at a long-term,global partnership. They agreed to keep the acquisition priceand further details confidential.

In the future, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young will provide the ITservices for the Dräger group. The 230 IT employees of the threeDräger IT subsidiaries will be taken over by Cap Gemini Ernst &Young. Cap Gemini Ernst & Young offers the IT companies and theiremployees a clear perspective as service providers in the areasIT infrastructure operation, IT application management, and ITprojects. Lübeck will then become the central location of the CapGemini Ernst & Young center network in Northern Germany, saysUlrich Prädel, Vice President of the Outsourcing DivisionCentral Europe at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.

With this step, the Dräger group will further focus ontechnology for life, namely the core competencies medicaltechnology and safety technology.
