Brussels 19.11.2002 (PROTEXT/ots) - Did you know thatgelatine is good for the bones and joints and that, if takenregularly, it can help to prevent arthritis and osteoporosis? Doyou know the most delicious recipes with gelatine, and did youknow that gelatine is free of sugar, fat and cholesterol? Fromtoday you will find everything more easily, more comprehensivelyand with a modern design at www.gelatine.org. The re-launched gelatine website of the European GelatineAssociation (GME) is going online. The aim is to give consumers,journalists, customers of the gelatine-producing industry aswell as anyone interested in gelatine, even easier and moreconvenient access to important information about all aspects ofgelatine. "The clear structure arranged according to subjects aswell as the modern and trendy design of the new website addressconsumers and journalists equally effectively", says PatrickGoossens, President of the GME. "We want to inform and educatewherever we can. The new website gives us a great platform forthis." The Association is even going one step further with therelaunch of the website: the new internet site should alsoillustrate the far-reaching potential of gelatine. Indeed, inaddition to its traditional applications in the food,pharmaceutical and photographic industries, gelatine is becomingincreasingly important for the development of new innovativeproducts in several sectors of industry. The Consumer at the Heart of Everything The consumer is still at the heart of the GME Association work.The comprehensive gelatine portal provides information on healthand a good diet with gelatine. Delicious gelatine recipes forgreat dishes to make at home can be found there as well asexpert tips for handling gelatine correctly when cooking andbaking. GME also provides full information on the safety andquality of gelatine. A newsletter to be published every threemonths will report on current trends in gelatine, while acomprehensive range of services will be made available tojournalists. A special highlight: the website, currently accessible inEnglish only, will soon also be available in German, French,Italian, Spanish and Dutch. This means that the GME is alreadyimplementing an important objective of its broad-basedinformation campaign: making gelatine information available to abroad, worldwide public. Want to know more?
