Franfurt/Main, Germany (ots/PROTEXT) 24.3.2004 - Under thenew Summer Timetable 2004 effective March 28, Frankfurt Airport(FRA) will be offering 491 scheduled passenger flights per weekto destinations in Eastern Europe - an increase of 16.6 percentcompared to last summer's schedule. The number of seatsavailable per week from FRA to Eastern Europe will also climb13.8 percent to 62,104. The new timetable features some 39destinations in the former Eastern Bloc region, which stretcheseastward from Germany to the Ural Mountains. With such a wideoffering of flight connections, Frankfurt Airport continues tomaintain its position as Europe's leading gateway for scheduledservices to Eastern Europe. Furthermore, FRA serves as a centraland strategic location for accessing Eastern Europe. On May 1,the European Union will be enlarged by 10 countries, including 8in Eastern Europe: the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia,Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
