For the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show/New Design Center in Japan: Johnson Controls extends presence in Asia

Tokyo, Japan (PROTEXT) - Johnson Controls, one of the world'sleading suppliers of automotive interior systems, is taking partin the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show for the first time. The show takesplace from October 27 to November 7 at the Nippon ConventionCenter. Johnson Controls' product display reflects the company'swhole range of interior systems. The company is presentingoverhead, door and seating systems as well as electronics andcockpit systems. Johnson Controls' presence in Tokyo and theopening of the Asian Design Center in Ayase City, Japan willstrengthen the company's global capabilities in innovativeinterior systems. New Design Center in Ayase City, Japan The Design Center, which has product ideation, concept,prototype and modeling capabilities, is located at the company'sAsian Technical Center. The facility in Ayase City, Kanagawa,became part of Johnson Controls on acquisition of Ikeda Bussanlast year. The Asian Design Studio team is made up of designers,3-D modelers and engineers. Recently, Johnson Controls acquired the Japan-basedautomotive seat manufacturer, Ikeda Bussan Company - a joint-venture partner since 1986. Johnson Controls has a total of 21 facilities throughout Asia.The company's Asian customers include Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi,Nissan and Toyota.
