Frankfurt Airport Summer Timetable 2004: More Than 4,200 Flights per Week via FRA / 112 Scheduled Passenger Airlines Will Be Serving 300 Destinations in 109 Cou

Frankfurt/Main, Germany 19.03.2003 (PROTEXT/ots) - FrankfurtAirport's Summer Timetable 2004 - which goes into effect on March28 - will feature 112 scheduled airlines offering a total of4,217 flights per week to 300 destinations in 109 countries.Slightly more weekly departures (4,290) were registered for theSummer Timetable 2003; however, due to the Iraq war and SARSepidemic only 93 percent of the planned flights were actuallyrealized. The total number of airline seats being offered atFrankfurt Airport (FRA) will increase from 693,153 last summertimetable to 697,871 this year.

The major growth regions for the Summer Timetable 2004, aboveall, will be Eastern Europe and the Far East. New destinationsinclude Kuching, Borneo, with Malaysia Airlines from March 28;and Ufa, Russia, served by Lufthansa from May 1. FrankfurtAirport's busiest routes this summer season will be in Europe.The top route will be FRA to Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) with128 weekly connections, followed closely by London-Heathrow (LHR)with 124 connections, and Berlin-Tegel (TXL) with 111connections.

In intercontinental traffic, Frankfurt's busiest routes willbe Chicago (ORD) with 38 connections per week, followed by NewYork-Kennedy (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX) - both with 34connections per week.

Effective March 28, FRA's timetable for cargo-only flightswill include 15 airlines serving 63 destinations in 37 countries.
