Frankfurt Airport Summer Timetable 2005: More Than 4,400 Flight Departures Per Week Offered by Scheduled Passenger Airlines Cargo Services Grow 20 Percent

FRANKFURT 17. 3. 2005 (PROTEXT/ots )- Frankfurt Airports(FRA) Summer Timetable 2005 which goes into effect on March 27will offer travelers an even greater choice than last year.The number of scheduled passenger flights at Germanys largestairport will increase by 4.4 percent to 4,404 departures perweek, compared to the corresponding schedule in 2004.While the number of domestic flights will decline slightly,European passenger services will grow by 4.9 percent. Inintercontinental traffic, where Frankfurt Airport already holdsa dominant position, flight offers will jump by 7.6 percent thissummer.

The total number of airline seats being offered per week atFRA will climb by 2.1 percent to 712,806 for the SummerTimetable 2005. Some 109 scheduled passenger airlines will beflying from Frankfurt Airport to 304 destinations in 110countries a truly global network.

Lufthansa, in particular, will be offering several newdestinations via FRA.

Guangzhou (formerly called Canton) in China will get a newdaily service from Frankfurt. Hyderabad in India and PortHarcourt in Nigeria (West Africa) will both be served threedays per week. The markets showing greatest growth in termsof airline seats being offered include South East Asia, Africaand Eastern Europe.

Compared to passenger flights, airfreight services at FRAwill be growing even stronger for the Summer Timetable 2005.The number of departures in scheduled cargo service will climbone fifth (20 percent) to 134 flights per week. Some 18airlines will be serving 59 cargo destinations in 37 countries:22 connections will be European and 112 intercontinental.
