Frankfurt Airport's Current Traffic Development for September 2001

Frankfurt, Germany (PROTEXT) - Fraport AG Frankfurt AirportServices Worldwide - owner and manager of Frankfurt Airport (FRA)- has not been as heavily affected by the devastating terrorattacks in the U.S.A., as many market participants had feared.After the company's figures developed in keeping with theexpected trend until September 10, passenger figures at FRAtemporarily slumped for several days after September 11. However,following the resumption of North Atlantic flights on September16, passenger figures returned to almost the previous year'slevel. Over 160,000 passengers per day used FRA during the first10 days of September; daily passenger traffic ranged from 120,000to 140,000 people from September 12 to 15. Almost 150,000passengers used FRA on September 11 - which was also the averagedaily passenger figure recorded at FRA from September 16 to 20. Other airports, in which Fraport AG has an operating interest,have reported only slight declines in air traffic so far. AtAntalya Airport, Turkey, where Fraport AG is responsible forpassenger-terminal management, passenger figures for Januarythrough August even increased by 38 percent over last year'slevel. A noticeable effect on traffic figures for the remainder of2001 is not expected because Antalya's high season is nearing anend. At Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, located in the Hunsrück region,air traffic is also developing within the expected range so far. More recent traffic figures are currently unavailable; themonthly traffic report for the entire September will be publishedby the middle of October.
