Fraport AG and Schiphol Group Establish Pantares Systems B.V.

Frankfurt/Main, Germany (ots/PROTEXT) - As a furtherdevelopment of their Pantares alliance, Fraport AG FrankfurtAirport Services Worldwide and Schiphol Group (the companymanaging Amsterdam Airport Schiphol) have founded a 50-50 jointventure called Pantares Systems B.V. The partners recentlysigned a shareholders agreement for establishing Pantares SystemsB.V. under Dutch Law with headquarters at Amsterdam AirportSchiphol. A holding company, Pantares Systems B.V. will servethe information and communication technology (ICT) needs ofsubsidiaries and associated airports of the Pantares partners.In addition, Pantares Systems B.V. will offer ICT consultancy,solutions, services and operations to other customers in the airtransport industry around the globe. The formal founding ofPantares Systems B.V. will occur in the next weeks.

Fraport AG's Frank Oidtmann, Managing Director of PantaresSystems B.V., has broad experience in the international airportbusiness as well as in the provision of ICT solutions andservices to airports. Oidtmann says, "Joining the ICT forces oftwo major airports to operate in the international air transportmarket is challenging but offers tremendous opportunities. Ourvision is to develop from our already strong position into one ofthe world's leading full-service ICT providers in the airtransport industry within the next five years."

Schiphol Group's Wim Sijstermans is a member of theSupervisory Board of Pantares Systems B.V. "The parent companiesof Pantares Systems will serve not only as a reference model butwill also actively support our ICT joint venture in developingbusiness at other airports and with airlines. The extensiveexperience and the high degree of process automation in place atAmsterdam Airport Schiphol and Frankfurt Airport will give us astrong competitive advantage in global markets."

Pantares - the world's first international airport alliance -was launched by Fraport AG and Schiphol Group in November 2000,following intensive discussions on future cooperation in six keyareas including information and communications technology (ICT).The airport partners believe that the Pantares alliance iscrucial for maintaining a leading role in the global airtransport industry, as well as for creating benefits forpassengers, airlines and other customers, shareholders, andstakeholders.
