Fraport Traffic Figures November 2004: Frankfurt Airport Achieves Record Figures in November Again Passenger Traffic Grows 2.2 Percent Airfreight Tonnage I

FRANKFURT 14. 12. 2004 (PROTEXT/ots) - Frankfurt Airport,FSE:FRA which is expected in the next week to top the 50 millionpassenger mark for the first time in the airports history againregistered new record traffic figures for the reporting month ofNovember 2004.

New peak figures at FRA were achieved for aircraft movements(takeoffs and landings), passenger traffic as well as airfreighttonnage. FRA handled some 7,794 metric tons of airfreight onNovember 21, a new historic daily record for Frankfurt AirportEuropes busiest cargo hub.

Germanys largest passenger airport welcomed 3,844,349passengers in November 2004, up 2.2 percent compared to thecorresponding month last year. One of the growth segments waslong-haul leisure travel to destinations such as the Caribbean,Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Traffic to the Middle East, NorthAfrica, India and South America also grew.

Climbing 8.4 percent to 159,473 metric tons, FRAs airfreightthroughput once again grew even stronger than passengertraffic. Major growth factors were increases in the Far East,Latin American and African markets. /2¨

ANR 62/2004> Page 2 of 3 Further capacity reductions in theso-called overnight domestic airmail network based at FRA againled to an overall decline in airmail tonnage of 11.5 percent to9,980 metric tons. Aircraft movements at FRA increased by 4.4percent to 39,200 takeoffs and landings. Maximum takeoff weights(MTOWs), which are particularly important for airport charges,increased 6.8 percent in November 2004 to 2,210,592 metric tons. Frankfurt Airport achieved impressive growth in almost alltraffic categories for the entire January-to-November 2004period. In the first 11 months of the year, FRA served about47.5 million passengers, 5.9 percent more than in 2003.Airfreight tonnage came to just under 1.6 million metric tons12.6 percent more than in 2003. More than 439,600 takeoffs andlandings were registered, representing a 3.8 percent increase inaircraft movements at FRA.

Along with Fraports main operation at Frankfurt (FRA), mostof the Groups other airports achieved good growth in thereporting month. Antalya Airport (AYT) on the Turkish Rivierasaw traffic growth improve by 9.8 percent to 686.168 passengers.Lima Airport (LIM) in Peru recorded 401,246 passengers, up 4.2percent. Frankfurt-Hahn Airport served 203,980 passengers, an/3

HanoverAirport (HAJ) welcomed 349,530 passengers, up 1.0 percent.Saarbrücken Airport (SCN) had 30,652 passengers, 6.1 percentmore compared to the same month last year. Together, the Fraport Groups six airports served 5,515,352passengers in November 2004, an increase of 3.2 percent. Cargovolume (airfreight and airmail) for the Fraport Group increasedby 6.9 percent to 203,508 metric tons. The number of aircraftmovements for the Fraport Group rose 1.3 percent to 58,543takeoffs and landings.
