friendlyway enables secure EC card payment on the Internet

Munich, Germany (PROTEXT) - friendlyway introduces the firstsecure payment method using EC and cash cards for common Internetbrowsers. friendlyway has linked Internet shopping with cash-cardand EC card functions from manufacturers Giesecke & Devrient andKone. Until now, integrating e-commerce offers in traditional storesfrequently presented the problem of how to pay for the offers.With Friendlyway's newly-developed technology, the customer willbe able to select a product from the Internet offer in the storeand pay directly with their EC card. To do this, the Internet browser communicates the order andpayment information directly, using specially encoded paymenttechnologies, thus enabling a secure transaction. "With itssecure payment function friendlyway is once again introducinginnovative technology which simplifies the link between e-commerce and traditional commerce," says Andreas Stütz, chairmanof the board of friendlyway AG. Friendlyway's speciality is in linking the sales channels ofshop, Internet, mobile telephone, interactive television andInternet terminals together. The company enables e-commerce andm-commerce in the traditional trading companies as well as inpublic locations. This year friendlyway will have a forecast turnover of 33million DEM; in the 2002 trading year total turnover is expectedto grow to over 63 million DEM. Presently, 40 per cent ofturnover is earned abroad, mainly in Europe. The company has asubsidiary in the USA.
