Gerresheimer invests in Belgian production for perfume and cosmetics packaging New opal-glass production strengthens the Momignies plant

DÜSSELDORF 20. 1. 2004 (PROTEXT/ots) - The GerresheimerGroup, one of the leading international manufacturers of glasspackaging for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, is expandingproduction in Belgium and thereby strengthening the future ofMomignies as a production location. New high- performancesmelting and production facilities were commissioned by theGerresheimer subsidiary Nouvelles Verreries des Momignies S.A.on 19 January 2004. At the opening ceremony, Walloon TradeMinister Kubla expressed his pleasure about the investment andits importance for the local job market.

The high-performance new facilities, which replace an olderplant, are likely to mean that the market importance of opalglass from Momignies grows significantly. In future it will bepossible to produce annually around 150 million containers madeof the fine white or cream-coloured shimmering special glass.Gerresheimer supplies the high-quality flacons, pots and vialsto customers in the cosmetics industry worldwide.

At the same time the investment confirms the importance ofthe Belgian production location in the cosmetics sector of theGerresheimer Group. With sophisticated design in glass,Momignies enjoys an excellent worldwide reputation in the fieldof perfumery and cosmetics. Gerresheimer offers these markets acomplete service spectrum, ranging from creative development toelaborate shaping, colouring and finishing of glass in everyconceivable variation.
