Intendis enters market as new dermatology specialist

Berlin, Germany, 03.02.2005 (PROTEXT/ots) - Intendis GmbHtoday officially announced, that it has started operations as anew, fully integrated pharmaceutical company, dedicated to thedevelopment and marketing of systemic and topical treatments forskin disorders. Intendis is a 100% owned subsidiary of ScheringAG, Germany (FSE: SCH, NYSE: SHR).

At a press conference in Berlin today, Intendis managementintroduced the new company and its growth prospects. It ispursuing a strategy to invest in the marketing of the groupswell- established dermatology brands in the areas of eczema,psoriasis, acne, rosacea, and fungal infections to broaden theirglobal reach. With its 300-strong sales and marketingorganization, the company is already well positioned across majormarkets. In addition, Intendis is developing new medical entitiesto further expand the business in areas with the greatest unmetmedical need and promising growth. At the same time the companywill look for a strategic partner to create critical mass inmajor markets.

Intendis showed pro forma net sales of 200m for 2004 and hasthe rights to leading dermatology brands transferred fromSchering AG, including AdvantanŽ, FinaceaŽ and PsorcutanŽ. It isheadquartered in Berlin and has over 600 employees worldwide inmanufacturing, development, marketing and sales across ten keydermatology markets.
