Johnson Controls at the North American International Auto Show 2004 in Detroit / Concepts for the present and the future

A sponsor of theevent for the 10th consecutive year, Johnson Controls will havea product and technology display in room D2-15 of Detroits CoboCenter. In addition, two press conferences will also take placeat the booth, on Sunday 4 January 2004 at 9:50 a.m., and onTuesday 6 January 2004 at 11:15 a.m.

New interior concept enhances ecology, economy andergonomics At the first press conference on Sunday, JohnsonControls will present a new and comprehensive interior conceptcalled 3E, which focuses on Ecology, Economy and Ergonomics.Also scheduled to make its debut on the same day is an industry-first, new seating system for vehicle second and third rows. Atthe second press conference, Johnson Controls will highlight newproducts being launched for the coming model year, as well as newelectronics products. In addition to the current vehicle interiorconcepts, visitors will also see new seating systems andelectronics solutions as well as the latest products from theareas cockpits, instrument panels as well as overhead and doorsystems. With thisinterior, developers at Johnson Controls aimed to meet currentexpectations for drivers in terms of cockpit comfort andfunctionality, while also placing increased emphasis oninnovative concepts for comfortable and flexible vehicle rearareas. * Open Seating a complete seat system that bringsreal innovation and a new level of comfort and functionality tosecond- and third-row seats of cars, trucks and minivans. Thisunique seating system features side bolsters that providecomfort similar to the front row when the seat is deployed andfold completely flat when the seat is stowed. * Floor RailInterior Personalization System this aluminum rail isintegrated into the vehicle load floor and enables one or moreconsoles to be moved forward or backward at any position alongthe rail. * Railport Vehicle Personalization System aproduct that offers consumers the possibility to customize theinterior of their vehicle at the point of purchase andthroughout a vehicles lifecycle. Integrated into a vehiclesoverhead system, Railport features flexible docking technologythat provides for the attachment of a variety of modulardevices. Johnson Controls is also sponsoring the AutoWeek DesignForum for the eighth consecutive year. It will be held at theCobo Center on Wednesday 7 January 2004, in conjunction with the2004 NAIAS.
