LambdaNet and EuroFiber sign framework agreement/Far reaching agreement to extend LambdaNet's broadband network to important economical centers in the Netherlan

Hanover/Brussels (ots/PROTEXT) - LambdaNet Communications, thepan-European operator of high speed telecommunications networkshas signed a contract on the provision of dark fiber capacitywith FiberCorp N.V., the provider of optical networkinfrastructure operating under the brand name of EuroFiber. Inthe framework of this agreement, LambdaNet will be able to useFiberCorp's extensive dark fiber network in the Netherlands aswell as the dark fiber connections in the main economic centresof the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Den Haag) that arealready operational at this point. The agreement will cover aperiod of at least 15 years and LambdaNet is committed torenting future metropolitan connections from FiberCorp inBelgium (for instance Brussels) and in Germany (for instanceDüsseldorf). FiberCorp's outstanding presence in these citiesallows LambdaNet to have city rings operational within a shortperiod of time without the need to build its own dark fiberinfrastructure. The framework agreement includes the use of FiberCorp's darkfiber city ring in Amsterdam. The 55 km city ring will beoperational in November connecting all existing telehouses inthe area. This enables LambdaNet to serve all its customers inAmsterdam. By signing this agreement LambdaNet is emphasising its long-term strategy of building a low-cost, extensive broadbandnetwork for a new generation of telecoms and Internet servicesin Europe.
