LambdaNet announces Relationship with Akamai

Hanover, Germany (PROTEXT) - LambdaNet Communications, a high-speed telecommunications network carrier, today announced that ithas forged a relationship with Akamai Technologies, Inc., theleading provider of outsourced e-business infrastructure servicesand software, through which Akamai has installed edge serversinside certain locations within the LambdaNet pan-European IPnetwork. The relationship will enable Akamai to expand its strategicnetwork deployment in France with new edge servers co-located inLambdaNet's high-speed IP network. LambdaNet ope- rates a pan-European fiber network with a total length of 22,000 kilometersand more than 60 points of presence across Europe. The deploymentof Akamai edge servers inside Lamb- daNet's network will improvethe delivery of rich media, HTML, video streams, and digitizeddownloads from Web-enabled enterprises that leverage Akamai'sservices to LambdaNet's ISP and telecommunications carriercustomers. As a result, LambdaNet can offer high-performancedelivery of data and applications while improving its transitbandwidth efficiency for the delivery of AkamaizedSM content.
