HANNOVER 4 June (PROTEXT/ots) - LambdaNet Communications,pan-European supplier of network-related telecommunicationsservices, has provided One.Tel Telecommunication GmbH with a"virtual private IP network" (VPN). In making the decision infavor of a LambdaNet virtual private network, One.Tel hasselected an economical solution that allows the enterprise toexchange its voice services (call-by-call and pre-selection) in asecure environment via an IP backbone.
The virtual private IP network based on IP/MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) with routing functions providescommunication service between the DTAG (Points of Interconnect)and the One.Tel switching systems as well as between theswitching systems themselves. One.Tel can control and route thetraffic on the virtual private network between all 23 switchingsystems in 23 cities. As a result, One.Tel communicates in thebackbone segment exclusively on its own "virtual" network, whichbehaves just like a network with its own physical infrastructure.
In addition to high operative reliability, the LambdaNetVIPNet offers scalability for transmission capacities to allowOne.Tel extremely high flexibility in their usage of the network. Thus, One.Tel is now able to build up a tightly woven networkbetween its locations, with the option of expanding the networkquickly and individually, as the need arises. LambdaNet offersthis network solution for bandwidths between 2 Mbit/s and 1Gbit/s. Moreover, different billing models, some of which aredirectly usage-based, allow One.Tel to adapt this service to itsown individual traffic profile.
"We have made it our job to provide customers in Germany withnational and international telephone services at extremelyattractive market prices. LambdaNet has provided us with aninnovative backbone service to this purpose that allows us tocreate customized telecommunications solutions for and with ourcustomers," comments Volker Prause, managing partner at One.Tel.
"With these IP/MPLS-based services, One.Tel now has a levelof security and data integrity in carrier-class quality. Thisservice offers One.Tel high operative reliability and scalabilitywith extremely flexible utilization. Thus, One.Tel can nowconcentrate fully on its main business of voice services and onits customers and their individual needs," explains Dieter Finke,CEO at LambdaNet.About One.Tel
