Swarovski, the world's leading manufacturer of cut crystal,teams up with master photographer Helmut Newton to enter theyear 2003.
This co-operation marks the premiere of the Swarovski ArtCalendar Edition, created to illustrate the "Crystal phenomenon"from the personal viewpoint of selected representatives from theinternational world of photographic artists. Each year adifferent world-famous photographic genius will focus a high-precision optical lens on Swarovski crystal to produce a personaland unique interpretation for the Swarovski Art Calendar.
With the Art Calendar Edition Swarovski braves a leap into afresh, young and uncomplicated representation of its world. Thiscompany, typified by traditions and 107 years of continuedhistory, professes an open and impartial attitude towards art.
Helmut Newton's motifs for the Swarovski Art Calendar 2003are the result of love and devotion. Born in Berlin in 1920,Helmut Newton achieved international fame in the 1970's whileworking principally for French Vogue. He is renowned for theprecision glamour of his photographs as well as the striking,often controversial scenarios he chooses for his models.
