Monthly Passenger Record and Increased Flight Punctuality; / 4.9 Million Passengers Served in July 2001

Frankfurt, Germany (ots/PROTEXT) - With a new monthlypassenger record and increased flight punctuality at FrankfurtAirport (airport code = FRA), Fraport AG -- the owner and managerof FRA -- has again scored positive points in its ongoing driveto make Germany's largest airport even more attractive fortravelers. In July 2001, FRA recorded its busiest month in theairport's history when it welcomed some 4.9 million passengers.This figure represents 2.7 percent more passengers than in July2000. During the same time, only 21 percent of the total 41,000departing and arriving flights at FRA were delayed, versus 28percent for the same period last year. This positive trend iscontinuing through the current month of August. To date, onlyabout 18 percent of FRA's flights have been late: with over halfof these delays within the 16-to-30 minute time window. "We intend to maintain our top position as Europe's mostpunctual hub airport in 2001," said Dr. Wilhelm Bender, ExecutiveBoard Chairman of Fraport AG.
