Passenger growth in October2002 was even stronger than the seven-percent increase registeredin the previous month of September. In particular, intercontinental traffic boosted passengergrowth at Frankfurt Airport. As expected, routes to the MiddleEast and North America achieved the biggest increases, with bothgrowing by more than 40 percent versus October 2001. Traffic tothe Far East reached new peak levels. Growth-intensivedestinations included China, Hong Kong, India and Japan.

Frankfurt Airport's cargo traffic has also developedpositively, with 139,400 metric tons of airfreight handled inOctober 2002 (plus 4.4 percent). Overall, Fraport AG recorded40,500 take-offs and landings at FRA in October 2002, a 2.9-percent increase in aircraft movements versus the same periodlast year.
