PharmaMar appoints new director of clinical oncology

Madrid 17. 9. 2002 (PROTEXT/ots) - PharmaMar, the anti-cancerdrug subsidiary of the Zeltia group, announced today that itwill strengthen its Research and Clinical Development departmentwith the appointment of Dr Miguel Ángel Izquierdo Delso as newdirector of Clinical Oncology.

Dr Miguel Ángel Izquierdo Delso, who specialises in medicaloncology and is also a practising physician at the FreeUniversity of Amsterdam, will take up his new position asPharmaMar's director of Clinical Oncology on 1 of October 2002.Over the last seven years Dr Izquierdo has worked as a keymember of the Medical Oncology Service coordinating the New DrugDevelopment Programme of the Catalan Institute of Oncology(ICO), Barcelona, Spain. He began his professional career atthe Free University Hospital of Amsterdam, and at the Institutefor Drug Development, Cancer Therapy and Research Center SanAntonio, Texas, USA, focussing his research on the pre-clinicaland clinical development of new anti- tumour drugs.
