Sarah Brightman lawsuit set for hearing in Federal Court / Case Number 04-10035 - US District Court of Hawaii

Kihei, Hawaii 17. 5. 2004 (PROTEXT/ots) - A lawsuit filed by a singer, Brian Evans, is set for a hearing on June 1st, 2004 in US District Court of Hawaii. In the lawsuit, Evans sued for fraud, deceptive business practices, and interference with economic advantage. The lawsuit also named Brightman's producer Frank Peterson and their label, Nemo Studios.

Evans claims the two entered into an agreement with the singer, had him relocate to Hawaii, and then dropped the album when their schedules wouldn't permit recording the album.

"Evans filed the $100 million dollar lawsuit after the record wasn't complete, and after Peterson claimed that Capitol Records was distributing the album. When Evans contacted Capitol, they had never heard of him," says Crooner, Inc.'s Justin Reimer.

"Evans also alleges that the promises made took him off the market, as he was pursuing a different major label deal at the same time. Since the Defendants dropped the project, Evans has been talking with a new major label for his next release. His last independent release remains a best seller at Amazon.com, but that does little for the singers worldwide asperations, Evans believes," says an associate of Crooner, Inc.'s Justin Reimer. "Things will work themselves out," says Evans.

"Of couse it's upsetting. They took me off the market for nearly a year with what I believe to be false promises, promises they fortunately made in writing," says Evans.
