Summer Timetable 2001 at Frankfurt/Main Airport: 110 Scheduled Airlines Provide 4,400 Direct Connections per Week to 280 Destinations in 110 Countries

Frankfurt, Germany (PROTEXT) - With the start of the SummerTimetable 2001 on March 25, some 110 scheduled airlines atFrankfurt-Main Airport (airport code = FRA) will be offering4,400 direct flight connections per week -- a 2.3-percentincrease over last year's summer schedule -- to 280 airportdestinations in 110 countries worldwide. Of these 4,400 weeklyconnections, there will be 2,600 European services, 970intercontinental and 830 domestic. The corresponding total seatcapacity being offered weekly from Frankfurt-Main Airport bythese scheduled airlines will also increase from 674,000 (SummerTimetable 2000) to 686,000. New passenger destinations in theSummer Timetable 2001 will include: Erfurt in the German federalstate of Thuringia (served by Air Berlin); and Phoenix, Arizona,(served by Lufthansa) and Salt Lake City, Utah (served by DeltaAir Lines), both in the continental U.S. In addition to thesescheduled services, numerous charter airlines also fly fromFrankfurt/Main Airport to numerous international holidaydestinations. Cargo-only Services Expand: For the Summer Timetable 2001, cargo-only aircraft will beproviding 270 scheduled connections per week from Frankfurt/MainAirport, an eight-percent increase over last year's correspondingtimetable. Some 13 cargo carriers will be offering thesescheduled services to 65 destinations in 40 countries around theglobe.
