DÜSSELDORF (Germany) 10. 7. 2003 (PROTEXT/ots) - ChiefExecutive Officers from the European insurance industry will bemeeting at the Handelsblatt-organized "European Insurance Summit2003", which is to be held in Brussels on 29th and 30th October.Under the slogan "Back to basics - concentration on coreinsurance business" key representatives from business andscience will be discussing how the insurance industry can solveits current problems. The key themes will be: return toprofitability, the impact of the international consolidationsurge, concentration on core skills and management of thetechnical insurance business.

The following speakers have already agreed to take part inthe European Insurance Summit 2003: Sergio Balbinot (GeneraliGroup); Henri de Castries (AXA Group); Leonhard Fischer(Winterthur Group); Francois Henrot (Rothschild & Cie. Banque);Rudolf Kellenberger (Swiss Re Group); Ewald Kist (ING Group);Gérard de La Martiničre (Fédération Française des Sociétésd'Assurances, Comité Européen des Assurances) and Lord Levene ofPortsoken (Lloyd's); Bronek Masojada (Hiscox plc); James J.Schiro (Zurich Financial Services); Gary Schmalzriedt (ACEEuropean Group), Wilhelm Zeller (Hannover Re) and Anton vonRossum (Fortis). The meeting will be chaired by Prof. Dr. WalterAckermann (University of St. Gallen) and Prof. Dr. Lutgart VanDen Berghe (Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School).

The event is being organized in conjunction with the WallStreet Journal Europe.
