TRUMPF is expanding its medical technology division with the acquisition of Munich medical technology manufacturer KREUZER

Ditzingen (PROTEXT/ots) - The TRUMPF Group will applyretroactively as of March 1, 2001 hundred-percent takeover of theKREUZER Group. Until now the company has been owned by itsfounding family, who decided for age reasons to come to aresponsible arrangement with regard to succession. KREUZER GmbH + Co. oHG is the world's largest specialistprovider of ceiling-mounted support systems and mobileworkstation systems in the medical sector. The main focus is onceiling supports as carrier and supply units for medicalappliances. These are installed in operating theaters andintensive care wards. Appliance carts conforming to the systemround off the range of products. KREUZER, founded in 1956 andlocated in Puchheim near Munich, achieved sales of Euro 19million in the year 2000 with 110 employees. The result wasmarkedly positive. For the TRUMPF Group, the acquisition of KREUZER is animportant strategic enhancement of its medical technologysolutions for the operating theater sector, as well as a basisfor further growth in its medical technology division. TRUMPF will keep KREUZER as an independent brand within itsmedical technology division, and continue to expand it. Thecompany's location will remain the same, and the jobs will bepreserved. This also applies to the existing distribution andservice structure. The successful product and quality strategy isthereby assured. The medical technology division of the TRUMPF Group (TRUMPFMedizin Systeme GmbH, Saalfeld and Hüttinger Medizintechnik GmbH+ Co.
