Oberhausen, Germany 11.02.2003 (PROTEXT/ots) - Following thesuccessful deployment of MMS applications for the leading Germanmobile communications network operators, conVISUAL is expandingits market position in the MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service)sector further: With the MMS Gateway Services provided by theGerman messaging specialists, customers can send theirmultimedia messages reliably and securely, and thus use thisinnovative mobile medium for their content and services. As part of its visual messaging services, conVISUAL now offersMMS distribution in addition to the mass sending of SMSmessages. This new service is available immediately. Thanks tothe technical connection to T-Mobile and Vodafone, conVISUALensures that multimedia messages can be sent easily within thesenetworks and, probably beginning in the second quarter, also inthe E-Plus and O2 networks. Besides pure MMS messagedistribution to the appropriate network, conVISUAL's servicesportfolio also includes the provision of convenient interfacesfor delivering content, the automatic generation of MMSmessages, as well as settlement of accounts with networkoperators. The sending of MMS messages is especially interesting formedia companies, Internet portals, content or service providersand retailers who offer their services via MMS-capable mobilephones or who would like to use MMS as an additional channel fordistributing their content. As a result, companies ranging fromTV stations to publication houses, through to fast food chains, can send their multimedia offerings directly to the devices oftheir target group. The spectrum of possible content includescurrent soap opera information, horoscopes, cinema trailers ornews, as well as lotteries or special offers for travel. Theservice operator decides whether the services the mobile phoneowner uses are fee-based, and to be settled via conVISUAL, orfree within the framework of a mobile marketing campaign.conVISUAL provides Premium SMS as the billing method for fee-based services: The mobile phone user orders the MMS service bysending an SMS message to a short code number. The charge isadded to the mobile phone bill. The advantage for the serviceprovider is that no individual billing infrastructure needs tobe set up. In addition to MMS Gateway, conVISUAL has also launchedanother two new products: MMS Content Platform and the "MobileCorner". With the MMS Content Platform, conVISUAL paves the wayto entering the lucrative MMS sector: Users of MMS-capablemobile phones can personalise their phones with polyphonic ringtones, subscribe for the latest news and funny comics, or havefun with the event calendars and interactive applications. The"mobile corner" caters to the profitable Smart Messaging mobilephone market (e. g., almost all Nokia models). conVISUAL bundlesthe success guarantors for the mobile communications mass marketin this comprehensive service: attractive logos, picture messagesand ring tones as well as FunTXT Messaging, which converts puretext messages into comic images with text.
